Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes

Price: Participant pledge (donation)

Proceeds from this event will go towards the American Diabetes Association. There are 107 teams, and 937 walkers already signed up for the event. The Association has set a $200,000 goal, and have raised $135,452.83 so far.

Awesome 80's Run
Date: Nov. 02
Time: 7:30am-10:00am
Location: East Mission Bay

Dress is your favorite 80's attire...and go for a run! Choose from either a 5K or a 10K. All finishers will be given a custom 80's medal, and can participate in the costume contest. Entertainment includes a live 80's cover band and dance crews. There will even be a Back To The Future DeLorean to feast your eyes on!

Old Town San Diego's Dia De Los Muertos

This event follows the themes of Remembrance, Community and Celebration. Dia de los Muertos is spent remembering loved ones who are gone. Activities include: Artes de Mexico, Fiesta de Reyes, and the traditional Tour of Altars.

Mira Mesa Invitational Band Review

Prices: $10 to view field tournament

Marching bands across Southern California will gather at Mira Mesa High School and compete in a field tournament. They will also march together down Mira Mesa Boulevard to put on a parade for neighborhood entertainment.

The Fearless races are for everyone with an interest in exercise and competition. Courses include: 375M swim, a 10K bike ride, and a 2.5K run. There are three different races you can participate in, including a team relay.

The Boulevard Boo! Parade

The Boo! Parade features halloween characters Mr.Boo, Frakie Steinberg, Bob Damask, and Gilda Ghoul, and much more. There will be an after party held at Effin's Pub and Grill immediately

Nightmare on Normal Street

Normal Street hosts a block party with Halloween flare. Come dressed in your more elaborate costume, as there will be a costume contest. The winner receives $1000! This event is for those ages 21 and older.

Monster Bash

Monster Bash is the largest Halloween block party in San Diego. There will be 16 musical acts, a zombie crawl, and drink specials at surrounding bars. There is also a free shuttle that will take you to your desired destination.

PurpleStride

PurpleStride is a run/walk that benefits the Pancreatic Cancer Network. Participants can either run a 5K or walk one mile along Mission Bay. This is a family friendly event for a good cause.

Hillcrest Hoedown

It's not everyday that one of the trendiest parts of San Diego gets transformed into a hoedown, petting zoo and all. Those twenty-one and over folks can enjoy riding a mechanical bull and trying their luck at the casino tables, while the kids head over to the arts & crafts area. Make sure to wear your best pair of cowboy boots for the costume contest.

La Jolla Art and Wine Festival
